Events and days out
At Holt Mill, we love to get 'out and about'. This could be a trip to the beach, a walk in a local park or place of interesrt or a museum or event in Manchester. We encourage active participation and the people we support like to take full advantage of the attractions and countryside both locally and further afield. Holt Mill Day Service has its own dedicated transport, allowing a wide range of organised trips. Please see below a selection of our recent outings.
A full range of activities are provided over the week. These may include visits from experts who assist with ‘Cook and Eat sessions’, gardening skills and basic woodwork, art and craft and life skills. Individual support is provided with specific skills to help with activities such as Gym, swimming, Aquafit, and adult learning.

Stuart’s outstanding 30 years of dedicated service to HCL
Throughout its history, Healey Care Ltd has built a reputation for delivering exceptional services earning the trust of Local Authorities and NHS provisions and contributing positively to the local economy. The company's continued investment in people, technology, and have gone through an incredible digital transformation and service excellence has positioned it for sustained growth in the years to come.
To commemorate the anniversary, Healey Care Ltd will be celebrating with special events.
One such achievement is the CQC recognition on one of their flagship homes, recognised as Outstanding for the 2nd time and celebrating long service awards which goes to Stuart Greenwood, reflecting the Stars Health and Social care awards in London. Stuart is being recognised for an outstanding 30 years of dedicated service to the company. “His wealth of experience, positive attitude, and willingness to support colleagues have earned him the respect of those around him. Reaching this remarkable milestone is a testament to Stuart's hard work and dedication, and we are proud to celebrate his long and valued service” says Marie Bennion, Registered Manager of Healey House, CQC outstanding and Stuarts Manager.

An afternoon at the pub!
Now that summer has arrived, we thought we would take the opportunity to have an afternoon at the pub. The weather was so nice we sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air whilst enjoying a drink. Everyone had a lovely afternoon with lots of laughter and chatter from our residence and carers. This is something we definitely need to do on a regular basis!

Picnic at the beech
Time at the beech is a firm favourite with our residents. The opportunity to splash around in the water (although, a bit cold even on a warm sunny day). An outdoor picnic lunch always tasted better by the seaside, even if you have to fend off the seagulls. Everyone had a fantastic time and went home happy for a well deserved 'nap'
